About Loaf Room

We're Cass and Chiron — the husband-and-wife duo behind Caramel Loafing. Based in Kyoto, Japan, our days revolve around slow bakes, sweet treats, and the everyday stories tucked away in this beautiful city. Through our website and YouTube channel — where more than 600,000 friends now bake along with us — we share recipes, travel moments, and little glimpses of life worth savoring.

The name "Caramel Loafing" grew out of our shared love for slowing down — whether in the kitchen, on our travels, or in everyday life. Just as caramel takes time to deepen in flavor, we believe the best moments are the ones you don’t rush. “Loafing” means wandering, idling, or simply enjoying the present — perfectly capturing our approach to baking and living here in Kyoto.

Whether it’s a pastry fresh from the oven, a peaceful backstreet café, or a quiet adventure off the beaten path, Caramel Loafing is our way of inviting you to savor life’s simple warmth — one story, one loaf at a time.
