Before arriving in Boracay, several friends who had already visited gave us the same piece of advice: “You absolutely have to try the face-sized burger everyone talks about!”
So in this article of our Boracay food series, we’re taking you along to try the legendary burger that’s become a must-try on the island.
The restaurant behind this iconic dish is SteamPunk, an American-style diner in D'Mall. With a name like that, you can already tell it’s a trendy, edgy spot—and it totally lives up to the name.
Even before stepping inside, you’ll spot SteamPunk from afar thanks to the flashy vintage motorcycle parked right at the entrance. Whether you’re browsing D’Mall or simply strolling by, this eye-catching spot is tough to miss.
SteamPunk Boracay
Open daily from 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM.
How to get there: Right at the entrance of D’Mall (next to the Ferris wheel).

SteamPunk Vibes: Industrial Magic Meets American Diner
Besides the attention-grabbing motorcycle outside, SteamPunk’s interior design is one of the most visually distinct in all of D'Mall. You could easily call it the most stylish restaurant in the complex.
The semi-open dining area is filled with steampunk details straight out of a retro-futuristic sci-fi set—think rusted iron pipes, chunky wooden tables, oversized gears, and metalwork that gives everything a rugged charm.
The walls are adorned with metallic gears in all sizes, and the ceiling features exposed piping and industrial light fixtures. Even the framed LCD screens add to the vibe. One of our favorite little details? Even the napkin dispenser near the washbasin is a vintage typewriter—seriously cool!
It’s clear the owners put serious thought into the design. No wonder it’s often named one of the most iconic American-style restaurants in D'Mall. Whether you’re dining in or just stopping by for a drink, the atmosphere alone is worth a visit.
Fun Fact: What is Steampunk?
The term “steampunk” was coined by American sci-fi and horror author K. W. Jeter as a tongue-in-cheek take on the obsession with steam-powered technology in post-industrial revolution worlds.
Classic steampunk works include H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine (also adapted into a film). In modern pop culture, Studio Ghibli’s Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Howl’s Moving Castle are well-known steampunk-inspired creations.
Face-Sized vs. Palm-Sized Burgers
Now earlier, we said you could just drop by for a drink, but let’s be honest—how could you resist their signature dish?
SteamPunk’s most famous item is their Triple X Burger, a massive, face-sized burger meant to be shared by three people. It’s overflowing with toppings and so huge that it’s impossible to eat with your hands—no joke.
If your appetite is small, you could even split it among four people and still be full. We originally wanted to try the Triple X just for fun, but when the server looked at us—just two people—she gave us a knowing smile and said, “You probably won’t finish it. Go with the sliders instead.”
She pointed to the massive burger at the next table. We looked. We agreed. That thing was HUGE.
So we went with their next most popular item: Beef Sliders—a set of four mini burgers that are way more manageable.
Honestly, These Beef Sliders Were Amazing
When the sliders arrived, they looked downright tiny—especially when compared to that monster burger at the next table.
The set came on a wooden board with four mini burgers and a small scoop of salad in the center. Each burger had a different sauce, and all four were equally delicious.
The beef was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seared—not greasy, not dry. But the real star? The buns. Toasted to perfection—crisp on the outside, pillowy soft inside—they were simply outstanding.
By the time we finished the second burger, we were already regretting not ordering the Triple X. With flavors this good, having more of it just seemed like the obvious choice!
SteamPunk Menu Highlights
While the most talked-about items here are definitely the giant face-sized burger and the tiny palm-sized sliders, the SteamPunk menu actually offers quite a wide variety of dishes.
Their offerings fall into several categories:
- Burgers
- Sandwiches
- Desserts
- Drinks
- ...and unexpectedly, Claypot Rice!
Surprised? You're not alone. Why would an American-style diner serve Korean-inspired hot stone rice bowls? Our guess—probably because of the large number of Korean tourists visiting Boracay!
Let’s take a closer look at some of the most popular dishes at SteamPunk Boracay:
TRIPLE X Burger – The Giant Face-Sized Burger
The legendary Triple X Burger lives up to the hype, packed with approximately ½ kilo of beef and served with a dipping sauce.
It’s layered with shredded cabbage (instead of whole leaves), which gives it a better texture and bite.
Price: PHP 670
TOPLESS TRIPLE X – Same Burger, No Top Bun
This twist on the Triple X Burger skips the top bun for a slightly lighter option. You still get the same massive patty and generous portion size (½ kilo), but this one comes with four types of dipping sauces.
Price: PHP 670
BEEF SLIDERS – Mini Burgers
This is the set of mini burgers we ordered. It includes four sliders served on a wooden board with a small side salad.
One of the sliders features crispy fried onions—also found in the Topless version.
Price: PHP 220 (It was previously PHP 190, so the price has gone up slightly.)
BURGERELLA – Classic Regular-Sized Burger
The BURGERELLA is their standard-sized burger. It comes with a small side salad and a well-filled patty, perfect for one person to enjoy.
Price: PHP 250
KID’S SLIDERS – Mini Meal for Kids
With a burger big enough to feed three and sliders small enough to pop in your mouth, SteamPunk didn’t forget the little ones!
The KID’S SLIDERS come with two mini burgers, a bit of salad, and some crispy fries—a great choice for younger diners.
Price: PHP 170
CHORI BURGER – Filipino-Style Chorizo Burger
This local favorite features a Filipino garlic BBQ sausage patty paired with cream cheese and crispy fried onions. The flavor is bold, smoky, and distinctly Filipino—something you probably won’t find elsewhere.
Price: PHP 230
HERBED CHICKEN AND EGGPLANT PARMIGIANA – Stacked Sandwich
Just reading the name makes it sound fancy! This sandwich includes breaded chicken cutlets, grilled eggplant, garlic butter, mozzarella cheese, and a tomato-based sauce. One of the more popular sandwiches in Boracay.
Price: PHP 220
SHRIMP ROLL – Shrimp Cocktail Sandwich
Despite the name, there’s no alcohol involved. Shrimp cocktail refers to a cold seafood dish of chilled shrimp paired with cocktail sauce or other bold condiments. This sandwich is inspired by that dish and is a must-try specialty on the island.
Price: PHP 220
CHURROS – Spanish-Style Fried Dough
Given the Philippines’ Spanish colonial history, it’s no surprise that churros are a local favorite here.
Served with three dipping sauces—dark chocolate, white chocolate, and mocha chocolate—these crispy treats (known as "Spanish doughnuts" or “Spanish crullers”) are the perfect sweet ending.
Price: PHP 150
PUNK SHAKE – An Over-the-Top Sweet Treat
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll love the PUNK SHAKE.
This decadent shake is loaded with thick chocolate sauce, chocolate-coated nuts, caramel cheesecake, and whipped cream—truly a sugar lover’s dream.
It comes in three flavor combos, each more indulgent than the last.
Price: PHP 250
Final Thoughts + Food Video Review
Even though we didn’t order the giant burger this time, we can confidently say the mini sliders were delicious.
If you’re sharing them between two people, it may not be filling enough for a full dinner, but it was perfect for us since we were planning to try more food afterward.
For a full meal, we’d recommend the standard burger—or go big with the Triple X!
Note on availability:
SteamPunk is often fully packed, especially during peak hours. You may need to wait for a table, but turnover is usually fast, so don’t worry.
Pricing:
Compared to other restaurants in D'Mall, SteamPunk is on the pricier side—but still well within reason. If you’re visiting Boracay with a group, Sharing the Triple X Burger makes for a fun—and seriously satisfying—group meal.
