Before I fell in love with Bangkok, I honestly never imagined that exploring night markets could be such an irresistible part of traveling here.

Thais truly know how to make night markets amazing!

You’ve got the wild atmosphere at Ratchada Rot Fai Night Market, the artsy, laid-back vibe of the now-closed JJ Green Market, the open-air food street vibes at Chinatown Night Market, the riverside beauty of Asiatique the Riverfront, and even the cultural mix of Middle Eastern and Indian flavors at the Nana Night Market.

Bangkok truly excels at creating vibrant night markets!

Today, let’s dive into another spot, right in the heart of Bangkok’s bustling shopping district: the Talad Neon Night Market.

First, let’s look at how to get to Talad Neon Night Market.

As mentioned, this night market is conveniently located right near the heart of Bangkok’s busy Chit Lom shopping district, Getting there is super convenient: just hop on the BTS, get off at Chit Lom Station, and follow the skywalk — you’ll be there in no time.

1. Walking from the BTS Chit Lom Station

Here’s the step-by-step route from BTS to the night market (the black line on the map above):

  • Take the BTS to Chit Lom Station and exit.
  • Head toward the Gaysorn side and follow the skywalk straight ahead.
  • After passing Big C, the skywalk ends. Go down the stairs and keep walking for a bit until you reach the Pratunam Pier. On street level, it looks like a bridge — and it basically is one!
  • Cross the bridge and keep going until you hit a big intersection (you’ll see an overpass ahead). Follow the road as it curves to the right.
  • Once you turn, you’ll quickly spot the green-uniformed Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam (famous chicken rice). Cross the street here — this is where the crosswalk is.
  • Across the street, you’ll see Palladium Shopping Mall. Turn right.
  • Walk less than a minute and you’ll pass The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam.
  • Go through the small alley next to it — and you’re at Talad Neon Night Market!

This walk from BTS Chit Lom to the night market isn’t overly long, but give yourself about 10–15 minutes — it’s roughly 1.2 km (about 0.75 miles).

2. Walking Over from Central World

If you’re coming from Central World, you can start at the last building in the complex — the old Isetan Department Store — and hop onto the skywalk from there. Just follow the skywalk down toward the market (this is the red route on the map above).

At the end of the skywalk, you’ll come down the stairs into a small square right in front of Platinum Fashion Mall. Cross the street here and head toward the Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam chicken rice place I mentioned earlier. Once you’re there, just follow the same route as before — you’ll find Talad Neon Night Market just a short walk away.

3. Arriving by Khlong Saen Saep Express Boat

If you’d rather take the Khlong Saen Saep Express Boat, just get off at Pratunam Pier. Once you’re off the boat, you’ll be right at that overpass mentioned earlier — walk down toward the main road, curve right toward Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam, cross at the zebra crossing, and then follow the same path to the night market. Talad Neon Night Market Hours: Open Every Day

The Talad Neon Night Market is open daily, so no matter how you plan your Bangkok trip, you’ll find a day to swing by.

Official hours are from 5:00 PM to midnight. Some stalls and small eateries may stay open as late as 1 AM, especially on busy nights.

About Talad Neon’s Opening Hours
If you Google the night market’s hours, you might find some conflicting info. Some sites say it’s closed on Tuesdays, others say it’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays, or that it opens at 4:30 PM instead of 5:00 PM. That’s because when Talad Neon first soft-opened in 2016, it really did close two days a week. However, since 2018, it’s been open every day — so you’re good to go any night of the week!

The Talad Neon Night Market is especially pretty at night. Colorful tents line the walkways, each serving up different types of street food. Twinkling lights strung between the stalls make it all the more inviting to wander in and explore.

Head toward the back of the market and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into an open-air club — with music, bars, tiny eateries, and laid-back tables and chairs scattered about. Even before you grab a drink, you’ll find yourself already relaxing into the vibe.

Although Talad Neon isn’t huge, the walkways are wide and easy to navigate, so it never feels too crowded or claustrophobic.

Right out front, there’s a big NEON sign and a cute pink rhino statue (probably their mascot). It’s the perfect spot to snap a quick photo, rest your feet, and decide what you’re craving next.

No doubt about it — food stalls are what Talad Neon Night Market is all about.

Right up front you’ll find rows of bustling seafood grills, BBQ spots, fried chicken stands, and fresh juice bars. Craving giant Thai river prawns? Plenty of vendors have them ready to grill. You’ll also find crab, grilled fish, seafood hot pot, street-style stir-fries, classic Pad Thai, satay skewers, and even the famous “Dragon Bone Soup” (huge pork spine bone) that’s become a signature in Bangkok’s night markets. Want steak on a sizzling plate? Yep, they’ve got that too! You might even spot a few surprise stalls run by expats or foreign vendors — and of course, we had to show some support. How could we not?

Beyond the main eats, there are plenty of quirky snack stalls — rolled ice cream made on freezing cold metal plates, colorful Galaxy cocktails, jet-black charcoal waffles, and the playful “Bloody Drinks” served in mock blood bags (super Instagram-worthy!).

Oh! And get this — there are two open-air hair salons right in the market. Pretty wild, right?

You’ll also spot plenty of DIY craft stalls and handmade accessories. Clothes and bags are mostly in the middle and left sections of the market.

One thing to keep in mind: since Talad Neon is right in the city center, prices here can feel slightly higher than other Bangkok night markets. Just so you know!

Another tip: it’s been said that some stalls might charge tourists more than locals. So it’s best to pick vendors with clear, posted prices to avoid surprises. In our Talad Neon food video, we actually show this in action: one place wanted 800 THB for 8 prawns (that’s 100 THB each), but the stall next door listed 6 prawns for 350 THB — less than 60 THB each. BQuite a difference, isn’t it?

Photo Spot Tip
Right in front of the market there’s an overhead pedestrian bridge — climb up for a bird’s-eye view of all the colorful tents. Also, don’t miss the NEON sign, the cute pink rhino statue, and the big N-shaped landmark on the plaza’s right side. All perfect for snapping a few photos!

How Long Should You Spend at Talad Neon?

Honestly, it’s tough to predict exactly how much time you’ll spend here — night markets aren’t like typical attractions where you can just circle once, grab a souvenir, and leave. There’s always something unexpected to tempt you!

You might wander in for “just a quick look” and end up lingering at a fun stall for ages — or you might stroll around and decide you’re done in ten minutes. Anything goes.

Talad Neon isn’t huge, so a casual walk-through can be done in about 10–15 minutes if you’re just browsing.

If you don’t plan to eat or shop much, set aside about 30 minutes for photos and a look around. If you want to snack, grab a drink, and buy a few goodies, about 90 minutes should be plenty.

Is Talad Neon Worth a Special Trip?

That’s really up to you. Many visitors feel it’s not worth a special trip just for this one market, as Bangkok night markets are plentiful — some with more character or variety.

Honestly, we didn’t make a “special trip” either. We were already at Pratunam Market having Kuang Heng Chicken Rice, so popping across the street felt like a no-brainer. It’s literally less than a two-minute walk — why not check it out? :)

The best part is how much there is to see nearby: Central World, Gaysorn Village, Big C, plus more tasty chicken rice spots and the Platinum Mall. You can easily plan an afternoon-to-evening itinerary that covers it all — so it doesn’t feel like you’re going out of your way.

Below, we’ve rounded up nearby spots to help you plan the perfect visit.

Starting from BTS Chit Lom Station:

  • Central World: The largest mall in Bangkok.
  • Erawan Shrine: The city’s famous four-faced Buddha.
  • Gaysorn Village: Upscale luxury shopping.
  • Big C: Popular supermarket for grabbing souvenirs.
  • Platinum Fashion Mall (Pratunam Market Mall): Loads of affordable finds inside, plus a lively plaza out front packed with creative food trucks and snack carts.
  • Chicken Rice: The green-uniformed Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam and the pink-shirted Kuang Heng are right across from Talad Neon.

If you’re up for more walking, you can even start back at MBK Center and work your way down. It might look like two BTS stops on the map, but it’s not that far: from MBK, stroll through Siam Discovery, Siam Paragon, and Siam Square One to Central World. This entire stretch is packed with giant malls and great shopping.

Most malls in this area stay open until 10 PM, while the night market truly comes alive later on. So plan to hit the malls first, then stop by for chicken rice at Pratunam and cap it all off with a wander through Talad Neon Night Market around 7 or 8 PM.

Bonus: this whole area looks stunning once the sun goes down — twinkling lights make it far prettier than in the daytime. It’s definitely more fun to explore at night!

Final Thoughts: Talad Neon Food Video

All in all, Talad Neon might not be the biggest or most exciting night market in Bangkok, but it’s still a fun spot to wrap up an evening. Eating, drinking, and discovering creative street bites and quirky little finds here is a great way to end your day.
