Virgin Mojito Recipe (Classic, Mango & Pineapple) – The Ultimate Summer Mocktail

Virgin Mojito - Non-Alcoholic Mojito
Virgin Mojito – Non-Alcoholic Mojito

Hi everyone, I’m Cassandre! Today on Caramel Loafing, we’re making three refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails: the classic Virgin Mojito, plus two tropical twists — Mango Mojito and Pineapple Mojito.

When people talk about the Mojito (also known as a Mojito mocktail or Nojito), the first name that often comes to mind is Ernest Hemingway. Whether it was truly his favorite is still debated, but there’s no doubt this Cuban classic is incredibly refreshing. The combination of fresh mint and lime is unbeatable, and it tastes just as good without a single drop of alcohol. I still remember my first sip of a non-alcoholic Mojito at Club Med — the use of raw cane sugar was a game-changer. The balance of tangy lime, subtle sweetness with a hint of texture, and the burst of mint aroma made it incredibly refreshing and unforgettable.

Mocktails are the name given to non-alcoholic cocktails. A Mojito without alcohol is commonly called a Virgin Mojito, Nojito, or Non-Alcoholic Mojito. Since it’s alcohol-free, it’s perfect for both adults and kids. In this recipe, I’ll show you how to make the classic Virgin Mojito and also share fun variations with mango and pineapple, so you can discover your perfect summer refresher. 😋

Instructions

☞ Classic Virgin Mojito

  1. Add 20g (0.7 oz) golden sugar and 35g (1.2 oz) lime wedges to a glass.
  2. Clap the mint leaves between your palms to release aroma. Rub one along the rim of the glass, then drop the rest in. Use a muddler to press and twist the lime and mint with medium pressure, just enough to extract the juice and essential oils—don’t over-muddle the mint.
  3. Fill the glass 80–90% full with ice. Pour in sparkling water or soda water. Use a bar spoon or cocktail stirrer to gently mix the sugar and lime at the bottom.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

☞ Mango Mojito

  1. Blend fresh mango into a smooth purée.
  2. In a glass, combine 10g (0.35 oz) golden sugar, 10g (0.35 oz) lemon juice, and mint leaves. Stir gently and lightly muddle the mint to release aroma.
  3. Add 50g (1.8 oz) mango purée and optional diced mango.
  4. Fill the glass with ice, then top with sparkling or soda water.
  5. Garnish with a mango slice and stir before enjoying.

☞ Pineapple Mojito

  1. To rim the glass with salt, rub a pineapple slice along the rim and dip it in a shallow plate of salt.
  2. Add 10g (0.35 oz) golden sugar, 10g (0.35 oz) lemon juice, mint leaves, and 50g (1.8 oz) pineapple chunks. Gently muddle to release juice and aroma, without tearing the mint.
  3. Fill the glass with ice and top with sparkling or soda water.
  4. Garnish with a pineapple slice and stir gently before serving.
